Our 6 year Anniversary Trip!

Hi Everyone,

We arrived back from our weekend trip at about 3 this afternoon. It was relaxing and beautiful. The B & B was so nice and the owners were so nice and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was a 3 course breakfast and so good. They even make hot chocolate especially for me (Ghirdelli) because we aren't coffee drinkers. Nummy! And there were fresh cookies and snacks and drinks every evening. And the amenities were hand made soaps and all natural products (lavendar scented). The company that makes them is right in there town and they make them especially for Oak Hill B & B. We loved the products so much we went to the shop and bought some of our own handmade soaps. They make our skin feel so soft. Our room was very nice, but the tub was smaller than a standard size tub. So tubbing wasen't on the adgenda. The bed was very comfortable and the fireplace was cozy in the evenings. On Friday night (our anniversary) we ate at a nice, but not too expensive restaurant called the Sweet Onion. It was good. I ordered Shrimp, potatoes, and grits and Jesse ordered a Steak, Ocra, and scalloped potatoes. Nummy. We aren't huge fans of grits or okra though. Different!

We rode the Great Smoky Mountain train on Saturday. It took off at 2 and arrived back at 6:00. We met some really nice people ane chatted with them through a lot of the trip. One couple dosen't live to far from us and gave us their number. They are probably in their 50's. They said if we have any questions or want to go do something to call us. They were so nice. And all their kids are away from the house. They other couple were from California. Very nice train ride and the mountains are so nice. The train went very slow! Comparible to the Heber Creeper. There was a one hour layover at an outdoor center. Fun stuff.

Then we drove through part of the Blue Ridge Parkway today. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a scenic byway through the mountains from western north carolina (where we stayed) to the southern part of Virgina. It wasen't really on the way home, so we just took an hour detour on the way back home. The colors of the trees were so vibrant and the mountains are amazing, as you can see in the pictures. We had a wonderful time.

Congratulations! 6 years that's awesome. It is beautiful back east in the fall. I hope you had lots of fun, it sure sounds like you did. By the way- did you hear that we got like 3 inches of snow today? No more fall for Utah-what's new!
